TIPPERARY

Sometimes referred to as ‘The Irish Manhattan’ due to its main component being an Irish Whisky, the tipperary started to gain notoriety around 1915 and early 1920s. Its origin lies with Irish soldiers during the first World War coming into a bar in France singing “It’s a long long way to Tipperary” as their marching song and ordering Irish whisky mixed with Chartreuse and vermouth. A short but stiff drink!
